The 37th America's Cup will take place between August and October 2024 in the centre of Barcelona, around Port Vell and along the beach to Port Olímpic. The sailing world has made Barcelona its home for what promises to be one of the most intense America's Cups in the 174-year history of the event.
As well as being the most important competition of its kind, the America's Cup is considered the oldest sporting event in the world, with origins dating back to before the Olympic Games.
Every four years, the competition brings together the world's best sailing yachts to compete in an unrivalled test of speed and endurance. Preparation involves several months in which the participating teams must prepare their bases and perfect navigation techniques on the spot.
